e-texts

A number of our readings are available online; here are a few sites with complete works now in public domain:

Candide by Voltaire

The Sorrows of Young Werther by Goethe

"The Queen of Spades" by Pushkin

"A Simple Heart" by Flaubert

"Metamorphosis" by Kafka

"Six Characters in Search of an Author" by Pirandello

Note: there are other sites on the internet with complete texts by these authors; for example www.grtbooks.com has Candide, The Sorrows of Young Werther, and Metamorphosis. Most of the poets have their works on various WEB sites as well; a quick GOOGLE or YAHOO! search will lead you to many of them. Buchner's Woyzeck seems only available in German on the WEB, and the newer works are still protected by copyright and are not printed online.
